Snoqualmie Pass, WA
A repeat of an old favorite because when the sun shines in Seattle, ESPECIALLY IN JANUARY, you gotta take advantage.
Pairs of jeans - at least 14, there were groups of people on groups of people especially since we got a late start. And it was not uncommon to hear that some people had to shed half their group on the way up. So there were probably more jeans-clad “hikers” hanging out with their chafed legs down at the trailhead.
There were many dogs, but there was only one Sully. He ditched his owners halfway up the mountain and decided we were his new best friends - check the picture below of the handsome fella.
Competition to also be Sully’s new best friend? One genius old, adorable man that carries doggie treats on hikes just for this reason. Sully was temporarily in love with him too, and I don’t blame him.
Rock climbers putting us all too shame along the path and just looking like bad asses year-round (we saw them on this hike in the summer too) - 6 brave and adventurous people who don’t mind every human ever to walk by to stop, point, and admire.
Rude AF smoker at the top view point? THAT WOULD BE ONE. Okay, really though… I would take a noisy drone over a smoker any day. There were so many tiny humans on this hike (S/O to all the dads carrying them down the mountain outside of the baby carrier they already had on their back, yes there were multiple instances), and tiny humans don’t need no cigarette smoke in the fresh, non-city air.
I’ve got only positives, aside from my cigarette rant, about this hike which is why I’ve allowed myself to repeat it. It is such a short drive out of the city and never disappoints, here are the real reports.
